Yeah! We made it to Madonna. Timothy came by amublance and Tim and I were not far behind. We all reached here about 4:00 p.m. Timothy's Mercy nurse and even the ambulance crew gave him some seditives so he is still asleep. Tim and I are very impressed so far. He will have someone staying in his room at all times. Tomorrow a team of people will do his assessment and then tell us what all he will be doing. We will be allowed to sit in on his therapies and can be here anytime.
Housing is available for the family members at a very reasonable rate. There is a cafeteria and several free drink machines.
Tim noted that the facility is spotless--far cleaner than my house right now.
We are excited to be here and ready for Timothy to get to work.
Here is the address: Madonna Rehabilatation Hospital, 5401 South St., Lincoln NE 68506, Room 138.

I am so glad for you, that Timothy has gotten moved. I have heard nothing but good things about Madonna rehab. Your family has been in all our thoughts and prayers. We missed you the other night at club. Hope to see next time. Agnes
ReplyDeleteFrom Wynell: Phyllis, I am so glad to hear that you have made it to the next step. The stimulation of constant care will bring Tim a long way.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed or visit last night and I felt so valuable. The peace and pleasure that Tim showed and the love he expressed when he took your hand and kissed it, said we had found the solution to some of his discomfort. Amazing what a simple backrub will do.
I have two recommendations--First, when the doctors say it is OK, find a good massage therapist in Lincoln and set up regular appointments. Maybe some people would like to get together and give him gift certificates for it. We know how much he relaxes with massage and back rubs.
Second, again when the doctors approve,(if they will) have him see a Gonstead method Chiropractor. The Gonstead method is very gentle and works at nudging joints back into alignment. I would be in a walker or wheelchair today, if I hadn't found one 10 years ago.
Please keep us posted on the progress. Wynny

ReplyDeleteSooo glad to hear Timothy got moved ok.
Madonna is a fabulous place. I've taken pts in and out of there and the staff is ALWAYS great to work with and yes...the first impression is always 'clean and happy' when I walk in there! Bridget's grandpa was there after a stroke post-surgery and he improved so much there...basically deficit free now. We never felt like he was 'just a pt' there, just great care and compassion accompanied with a load of dignity.
Good Luck to you and we'll be up to see Timothy soon.
Love to all
Brynda
