I talked to the neurosurgeon this morning at 8:00. He insists that Timothy is making remarkable progress. Reminded me that it is amazing that he is in one piece and mending as quickly as he is after all he's been through. I mentioned how discouaraged we become when he moves a finger or toe, but then doesn't respond for hours. The doctor said that I have to understand that for Timothy right now that is a huge effort and takes all of his will and strength. I should be most thankful that he can do it at all. I mentioned he had yawned real big this morning. He said that was marvelous--using his front lobe.
Another doctor (internist I think) said they are taking him off dipravan today and see what happens, also changing settings on vent so Timothy is doing more of the breathing. We'll have to wait and see how this goes.
All in all we are most encouraged this morning.
By the way--Thank you Cindy for the 12' banner in Timothy's room and to everyone who signed it. Doctors, nurses and visitiors have commented and say how great it is for Timothy and us to have so much community support. I apologize for not mentioning the banner sooner. That has been a wonderful boost.

It's wonderful hearing the positive new's from the doctors.
ReplyDeleteI am Tim's supervisor on the RR and I wanted everyone to know what a great guy he is. Tim is a quit guy but he was a leader that led by example. His work ethic is beyond reproach.
The railroad is fortunate to have individuals like Tim, always reliable and willing to go the extra mile for you.
I feel fortunate to have met his family. Tim and Phyllis, and the brothers Jeremy and Zach.
They're the type of family anyone would appreciate being a part of and knowing them is a real blessing.
Hi Phyllis and Tim,
ReplyDeleteI just now got a chance to check the website. Sounds like very encouraging news! I have sent the address on to school people who know you. We are in Omaha at the hospital for several days, so I think of you often, waiting like I am waiting.
Breathe deeply.

That is great to hear! I know we all want him to be better as soon as he can, and it sounds like he is putting all his effort into it. That's Tim, I wouldn't expect anything less from him. He is such a strong and amazing person. Thank you for being the awesome parents that you are. You have three wonderful sons whom I love dearly. Zach is like another little brother to me, Jeremy is so sweet and Tim is one of the best friends anyone could have. I think about you all every day. The poster is just a way of letting you know just a fraction of all the people that are thinking and praying for you all. Thank you so much for posting the updates. I am praying for strength for you all and Tim's recovery.
